what is

coaching

In a world full of advice and external solutions, coaching offers something different: the space to turn inward, slow down, and listen to yourself more deeply. My role isn’t to give you answers — it’s to ask the kind of questions that help you uncover what’s already within you.

Rooted in the Socratic tradition and informed by logotherapy, my coaching is about more than achieving goals. It’s about discovering meaning, aligning with your core values, and moving forward with clarity and purpose. Whether you're navigating change, feeling stuck, or simply seeking a deeper connection to your work or life, coaching can help you make sense of where you are — and where you’re meant to go.

My why.

I do this work because I believe that people already hold the answers they’re searching for — they just need the right space, the right questions, and the right support to find them.

In a world that prizes speed, certainty, and external expertise, I’m drawn to a different path: one rooted in reflection, meaning, and deep listening. Inspired by Socrates’ maieutic method — the “art of midwifery” — I see coaching as a way to help others bring their own insights to life. I’m not here to give advice or offer fixes. I’m here to walk beside you, to ask the questions that cut through noise, and to help you reconnect with your purpose and your truth.

This work matters to me because I’ve seen what’s possible when someone finally hears themselves clearly — when they pause, get curious, and begin to act from a place of alignment.

Coaching is how I contribute to that possibility.

It’s how I support transformation that’s not just strategic, but soulful. And it’s why I keep showing up: because I believe in the power of people to create meaningful, lasting change — from the inside out.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.
— Buckminster Fuller

My Method.

My coaching approach is rooted in the belief that each person carries a unique, innate potential — a truth already present within them. Drawing on diverse but deeply aligned traditions, including the Islamic concept of fitra, Socratic maieutic inquiry, Viktor Frankl’s logotherapy, strengths-based coaching, Hillman’s acorn theory, and Jung’s individuation, I support clients in reconnecting with their original essence. Influences like Parker Palmer’s hidden wholeness, Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory, Thomas Moore’s soul-centered psychology, Csikszentmihalyi’s flow, and the Enneagram further shape this integrative, soul-aligned methodology. You can explore the full list and how these frameworks inform my work here.

testimonials.

I recently participated in Joshua’s 90-day coaching program. What a transformative experience!

I’ve been in a professional transition and trying to figure out which direction to go, and Joshua’s coaching was exactly the kind of guidance I needed.

I love how intuitively he approaches his work—it never felt like we were sticking rigidly to a template. He was able to draw from a wide-range of tools and modalities to custom-fit a program just for me.

In addition to his beautiful mix of intelligence, kindness, and wisdom well-beyond his years, Joshua is a very committed listener and pays deep and careful attention. With his guidance, I was able to do some very valuable inner healing and connect with my higher self, which has long been a missing link in my personal/spiritual development.

Joshua is an incredibly gifted coach and guide—I strongly and enthusiastically recommend him!

When I stepped into a senior‑leadership role—one that demanded both deep technical judgment and people‑first stewardship—I knew I had some growing to do.
Joshua became the catalyst for that growth.

From our first session, he helped me surface the blind spots I couldn’t see on my own: the skills gaps, the unspoken fears, and, most importantly, the subtle reluctances that were holding me back. Joshua never forced a breakthrough; he guided me toward it. With steady curiosity and a gentle style, he created a space where it felt safe to explore uncomfortable questions—then equipped me with practical frameworks from my own creation to act on the answers.

I recommend Joshua without reservation to any leader ready to level up both their competence and their confidence. He meets you where you are, walks beside you through discomfort, and leaves you equipped to thrive long after the engagement ends.

I first met Joshua in Qatar. As a startup founder, when I learned that he offers coaching and consulting, I knew I wanted to benefit from his expertise.

We had two coaching sessions, both incredibly valuable. Joshua has a remarkable ability to listen deeply and understand the specific challenges we’re facing. His advice was always practical and aligned with our vision, not something that derailed our goals, but rather helped sharpen and accelerate them.

After applying his guidance from the first session, we immediately saw a meaningful shift within the company. The second session was even more impactful. Joshua identified a strategic way for us to build credibility in the industry — one that didn’t require large amounts of capital, which was crucial given our limited resources.

If you’re looking for a coach who listens, gets your challenges, and offers thoughtful, actionable advice, I highly recommend working with Joshua.

Being a working mom of 3 littles between the ages of 2-8, living in a house under construction, and trying to start a life project - I got overwhelmed and had spiraled a bit and couldn’t seem to find the path forward to doing. I saw Joshua’s post, and thought, ‘Sure, this might help.’ I knew I needed help getting to the ‘doing’.

We met weekly* (*He was flexible and had an organized calendar - so if life came up - then we could coordinate alternatives) by phone for a couple of months.  He is punctual, time-conscious, and sends feedback forms to help track progress and touch base ahead of the weekly meetings. He offered supportive reminders mid-week if requested, which was great because I would get so sidetracked.

Joshua is a great listener who provides thoughtful and well-rounded feedback. He comes with a broad, compassionate, well-traveled, and cultured background. He helped set up manageable goals to help get me back on track. I would very much recommend Joshua as a coach. I can feel the positive results.

His coaching catalyzed my organization and being able to step back from the constrictive overwhelming space where my mind/emotions go and flow into creative unrestrictive spaces. I finally took a Bomba dancing course because of his encouragement! It was a very grounding and heart-centered experience.

I can confidently describe Josh’s style as both effective and unparalleled in its value. For more years than I could count, I’ve struggled with behaviors that I thought I was enslaved to; between Josh’s incredibly authentic presence, his phenomenal listening skills, skillful questions, and creative suggestions, he creates an environment where you can’t help but open up and think deeply about the source of your issues, identify the triggers, and help you set your own plan to overcome them. Josh reliably fulfilled his role as an accountability coach and ensured I stayed consistent with the behaviors.

It goes without saying that Josh’s dedication and commitment to his craft are special. His wealth of knowledge and expertise in the physical, metaphysical, and spiritual realms equips him to be personable to anyone who reaches out to him. Unlike some unfortunate imitators who dilute the pool of effective coaches, Josh sets himself apart as ‘the real deal’.

I can’t emphasize enough as to how amazing Joshua is. As an accountability coach, he helped me tackle my biggest adversary and quit porn. No matter how much I tried to block the sites, quit social media, and ask friends to be my accountability coaches, I’d at most abstain for a week days and fall back into that same routine. When Josh took on that role, he showed me how if I didn’t understand why I was doing what I was doing, that I’ll always be compelled to go back to it. As I write this review, I’m currently two months sober and am excited to keep up the good work.

Josh, it goes without saying that I, like so many others, owe a great debt. If you’re reading this, I want you to know you’re a one of a kind.

Thank you.

mapping the

journey

Coaching is a dynamic, collaborative process — not a one-size-fits-all formula. While every client’s path is unique, I find most coaching journeys naturally unfold in three evolving stages. Each phase builds on the one before it, supporting you in moving from awareness to aligned action to lasting transformation.Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sounds like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest.

1. Explore & Map

Clarify what matters. Make the unseen visible.
We begin by creating a safe, reflective space for deep listening and inquiry. This stage is about discovering where you are, where you want to go, and what inner or outer dynamics are shaping your experience.

Together, we’ll:

  • Clarify your values, motivations, and aspirations

  • Surface limiting beliefs, assumptions, or patterns

  • Map the gap between your current reality and desired future

  • Set intentions and co-design our coaching alliance

This foundational phase may include assessments, journaling prompts, or pre-work to support discovery and alignment. It often spans the first few sessions.

2. Experiment & Integrate

Test new thinking. Translate insight into action.
Once we’ve explored your inner landscape, we move into intentional experimentation. This is where you begin implementing what you’re learning — trying new behaviors, having courageous conversations, or making aligned choices.
During this phase, we focus on:

  • Practicing new habits, decisions, or mindsets

  • Observing and adjusting in real time

  • Exploring emotional responses and blocks

  • Building on what's working, letting go of what’s not

You’ll take action between sessions, with support structures and accountability in place to reinforce growth.

3. Anchor & Evolve

Solidify lasting change. Move forward with clarity.
In this stage, we focus on embedding and sustaining the shifts you’ve made. We distill what you’ve learned, strengthen your confidence, and identify how you want to continue evolving.
Together, we’ll:

  • Reinforce key insights and embodied habits

  • Identify long-term support systems or structures

  • Reflect on your growth and evolving goals

  • Design a meaningful close or next step in your journey

This phase often includes a review session and celebration of your progress — and serves as a bridge to whatever comes next.

the flow

of sessions

  • Sessions are typically 60 minutes, with clients often choosing a cadence of 4 sessions per month and a package of 12 sessions over the course of 3 months.

  • We co-create the structure at the outset — including logistics, goals, and communication agreements.

  • Coaching is always client-led: you're free to pause or end the engagement as needed.

  • Between sessions, the real work happens: you’ll apply insights in your life, reflect on choices, and stay accountable to your intentions. Often a reflection form is utilized to record progress and map trajectory.
